The Government of Samoa is cooperating with the World Bank in the preparation of a health sector management project intended to enhance the delivery of health services to the resident of Samoa. In conjunction with the main element of the project, Healthcare Waste Management component has been included. This component will basically consist of a system of HCW collection, storage, transport, and treatment disposal based on international standards. The main objective of the component is to implement a national clinical waste management system for Samoa. Incinerator disposal of hospital wastes will be part of an integrated approach to include placement of proper bins, professional collection services, training and daily management of each phase of the operation.
