The CBEMP Regional Meeting for National Project Coordinators was held from 2-4 February 1998 in Apia, Samoa. The purpose of the meeting was to bring together the country nominated National Project Coordinators (NPCs) to discuss what the CBEMP programme is seeking to achieve and to outline the roles of the NPC and the National Coordinating Committee (NCC). The meeting agenda is attached as Annex 1. The project will have regional coverage with the 15 United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pacific island member countries being eligible for participation. Participants for this meeting came from the Cook Islands, Kiribati, Niue, Palau, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Nominations were received from Nauru and Tokelau; however, due to transport difficulties, they were unable to attend. Resource people from UNDP and the Forum Secretariat provided specialist input and training.
