This account of the marine algal biodiversity of the Apia District and Vicinity, Samoa, South Pacific, is the culmination of 7 years of intensive study. The approximately 10 km stretch of coastline and associated reefs, lagoons and other habitats covered by the surveys, is the most human-impacted region of Samoa, and includes the nations only international port, and the Palolo Deep National Marine Reserve
