Jointly sponsored by the U.S. Bureau of Mines and IIT Research Institute held in Chicago, Illinois on March 18 -19, 1970.|Abstact : wood and wood fiber products are being lost in considerable quantity in solid waste, and the Forest Products Laboratory is conducting research in cooperation with others to recover this material for existing or new products. Forest Service interest in recycling wood and wood fiber is motivated by projections that a pulpwood shortage will develop if present trends do not change. Analysis of the problem has resultedin a target system for wood fiber recovery from municipal solid waste. Exploratory research indicates that the system has feasibility, and evaluations of system components are under way.|Published paper kept in vertical file collection.
