Abstract

The rapid shift from subsistence to cash or monetary economy in contemporary Tuvalu as posed by the effects of globalization paved the way for such immediate and fitting policies and responses to be devised to address such swift changes. TNEP is no doubt a product of these much needed responses, and its sole objective is to improve the well-being of the Tuvalu people by promoting the use of its renewable energy resources, which are cost-effective, reliable, affordable and environmentally sustainable.
