Report on the National Assessment for the World Summit on Sustainable Development to the Tokelau Islands : 3rd Draft

Abstract

Tokelau is a non self-governing territory of New Zealand. Tokelau wishes to move toward greater self-governance and is supported in this by the Government of New Zealand and the UN Special Committee on Decolonisation. The Modern House of Tokelau (MHT) is a major Tokelau initiative that aims to provide a governance structure that better fits Tokelau's cultural context and increases Tokelau's capacity to manage it's own affairs in a sustainable fashion.
