Abstract

Water resource management in Samoa is fragmented. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Meteorology deals with watershed management and hydrology while the Health Department monitors water quality standards. No agency is formally responsible for the regulation of water resources. Samoa Water Authority is the national service provider of water while the Electric Power Corporation is the biggest water user for hydro electricity generation.
