Unfortunately, the PIROP has not had the impact that was expected at the time of its development, and has lost some visibility in recent years. Following a proposal put forward by Kiribati at the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaderâs 40th Meeting in 2009, the development of a Framework for Pacific Oceanscape (FfPO) was called for.
