Abstract
The State of the Environment Report for Niue was commissioned by the Government of Nine and "sponsored by the South Pacific Regional Environ- ment Pmgrauime as part ol the process of devel- oping a National Environmental Management Strategy (NEMS) for the island. This Strategy will form the basis of the government's ongoing environmental policy and project work and will set priorities for resource allocation in the future.
