"...From the Mountains to the Sea" : PNG's Threatened Environment

Abstract

Divided into 10 subtopics, this film is a compilation of independent topics with a common objective to address the state of the environment. These subtopics are; The Threatened Earth, The Greenhouse Effect, Our Special Wildlife, Forests, Cash Crops, Use of Pesticides, The logging of Paradise, Problems from Logging, Mining in Papua New Guinea, Conservation Areas, and lastly, Ways to protect our Wildlife. PNG being the case study, we are offered a tour of the special wildlife in Papua with it's exotic and rare species endemic to these islands such as the 'Paradise Kingfisher'. The effects of mining in Papua is also addressed with a case study of Panguna Mine.
