The directory covers the protected areas system of American Samoa, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Cook Islands, Fiji, Federated States of Micronesia, French Polynesia, Guam, Hawaii, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, New Caledonia, Nauru, Niue, Palau, PNG, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna, Western Samoa and some of the Pacific islands of Australia, Chile, New Zealand and the United States. Summary data are presented for all protected areas known to exist in these countries, although only a limited number of properties are described in detail.
