Abstract

Few would argue against the idea that Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can be a significant and effective tool for development. Beyond its wide application in many areas and disciplines, it has been recognised for its usefulness in environmental development and management, particularly within the Pacific Region. Through our discussion and examination of case studies today, we will see how effective GIS can be in Biodiversity and Coastal applications.
