Environmental Impact Assessment in Relation to the Proposed Floating Dry Dock Development at Delap, Majuro, Republic of the Marshall Islands

Abstract

This report assesses the proposed floating Dry Dock development against the environmental regulations of the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The report finds no evidence to suggest that the project is inconsistent with the environmental requirements and aspirations of the Marshall Islands Government. On the contrary, the report finds that the project would entail negligible impacts on the local environment and may well act as a catalyst for improved waste management and eco-efficiency - especially in Majuro. By raising the standard of environmental performance, particularly in the area of waste management, the project will set a new benchmark for existing industrial facilities and future investments alike.
