Available online|The funding of adaptation, scale, and modes of delivery has been a critical area for discussion within the negotiations surrounding the UNFCCC and is likely to continue to be so. As these developments take place it will be vital to ensure that evaluation is built in from the outset so funds are spent equitably, efficiently and effectively in ways that will provide flexibility and are sustainable within development efforts.
There is a need to learn from what has been done so far; the engagement of the climate change adaptation industry to engage with the professionals working in evaluation is essential to build a consensus about what is successful adaptation.
