Abstract

IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature, is the largest global conservation network, with more than 1,200 government and NGO Members and almost 12,000 volunteer experts in some 160 countries. This unique union brings together governments, non-governmental organisations, scientists, businesses and communities to make the right decisions for people and for the planet. Through its Members, Commissions and Secretariat IUCN is leading the way to solve the world's most pressing environmental and development challenges-from threatened species and habitats, to climate change and food insecurity.
